Weekend Recap

Phew, we had a pretty low key weekend for the first time in a couple of months!

Friday, the little girl who lives next door, Megan, came over and played with Chase for a while...they even went swimming in our pool.

Today was Megan's birthday party. She invited 9 of her closest girlfriends, and Chase! She loves him. It melts my heart when she rings the doorbell asking if Chase can come out and play every night. So cute!

Chase is now all over the place. He is walking so well, and actually has pretty good form. I'm so proud of my little man!

We don't plan on doing much tomorrow, I actually have to go to the office for a couple of hours. But do check the blog again, I will be sure to post Chase's 11 month lamb picture! I can't believe he's almost a year old already!

Look Who's Walking!

Chase has been walking for about 2 weeks now. He's getting to be such a big boy.

He still does a lot of crawling, especially if he has to go a long distance or wants to get somewhere fast.

The walking has caused quite a few bumps and bruises. I know it all comes with the territory, but I can't stand how many times he hurts himself in a day. Hopefully he will become more stable soon!

Okay, this one is for MB!

I can not tell you how many times I've been told that I look like Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal). It seems like everywhere I go, someone new tells me that. I honestly DO NOT see any resemblence...can you? Even my younger sister, Julie, has been told the same thing.

Well this weekend at Carrie's wedding, MB kept trying to trick the bartenders telling them that I was Calista Flockhart. She even made me sign autographs. First of all, I am a horrible liar, so I could not play along very well. But mainly, I still do not see ANY resemblence. I WISH I DID! :-)

Happy Birthday Conner!

Today we went to Conner's 2nd birthday party. I can't believe he's already 2 years old! I remember when we evacuated for Hurricane Katrina and stayed with the Bourgs. Conner was only 8 weeks old! Happy Birthday Conner Joe!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Vargas!

Last night was Carrie and Marcos' wedding. She looked so amazing and they both smiled all night long.

All of the girls spent the day together at Carrie's mom's house. We had such a fun time together.

I don't have any pictures of the wedding, because by the time the reception started, I was sick of taking pictures and just wanted to have a good time.

Carrie's Rehearsal Dinner

Last night was Carrie's rehearsal dinner. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the bride to be (she was a little busy) but she looked BEAUTIFUL. Carrie and Marcos seem ready for the big day tomorrow. I can't wait!

As for Chase, he is doing MUCH better today. That must have been one heck of a shot because his cough is almost completely gone. I can tell his ear is still bothering him, but he is in much better spirits. Thanks for your prayers!

The Croup!

I took Chase to the doctor both Wednesday and Friday of last week. Wednesday was when he was diagnosed with the high fever virus. Friday they said he had a runny nose and to start a few breathing treatments.

On Sunday, I thought Chase was all better...WRONG!

I had to take him back to the doctor today because his cough was so bad. Chase not only has croup, but he has sinus drainage and a very bad ear infection.

He had to get a horrible shot today. They warned me that the shot would hurt him and sting really bad. I've never heard Chase cry so hard (and it took everything I had not to cry with him). While I was trying to calm him down, I realized that both of us were covered in blood. The shot caused some serious bleeding on him. I had to go fill his prescriptions with a very blood stained white shirt, but I needed to get the medicine filled right away so we could start him on it.

My poor Sweet Pea. Keep him in your prayers!

Happy Father's Day everyone...especially to Shane, Paw Paw and Pops! Chase and I hope that all 3 of you enjoyed your special day and we love you so very much!

Bride-To-Be

Poor Baby!

Well, we had a good 2 months. Chase has been healthy and happy since the beginning of April...it's been great! We've had so much fun playing with him and watching him
grow and learn new things. He hasn't been sick in a while, but I guess all good things must come to an end.

Yesterday I left work early to go to an ENT. I have a bad sinus infection and wanted to get a shot and some meds to clear it up. After I left the doctor, I went to pick Chase up from school. Melissa told me that he was burning up with a fever of 102. I took him to the doctor today. They found puss pockets on his throat so they tested him for strep throat...that came back negative. Then they tested his white blood cell count, and that came back okay. Dr. Gioe said it's just a viral thing and to give him Tylenol and Motrin until it passes (and if he still has the fever in 3-4 days to go back).

Tonight I took Chase's temperature before I gave him his bath and it was 103.3!!! My poor baby! I feel so helpless.

But I was able to get 2 pictures of the Big Boy smiling today, which made me happy.

By the way, when they weighed him today, he rang in at 22lbs and 13 ounces!!!!!

Carrie's Bridal Shower

Today Carrie's family threw her a bridal shower on the Southshore. Carrie looked BEAUTIFUL and got lots of great gifts! I can't believe she's getting married in less than 2 weeks (and we still don't have our dresses)! :-)

Wedding

Tonight Shane and I went to a wedding in New Orleans. We didn't know very many people there, so we ended up at Harrah's casino. Within an hour we were down quite a bit (for us) and had made 2 trips to the ATM. We finally decided it was time to call it quits and leave. We went to the restroom before our drive home. When we came out the bathroom, I told Shane I could win our money back.

So we headed back to the craps table and within 10 minutes (and a hot roll on my part) I won back all of our money plus $25!!!! Thank goodness for that because we still had to pay for parking and the babysitter :-)

Lilly's Party

Today we went to Lilly Vita's 2nd birthday party at the Mandeville Sports Complex. We've never been there before and I have to say it was a really cool place. The party was in the Gym Rompers room and Chase had a GREAT time. He loved climbing and playing on all of the bright toys. I can't wait until we sign up for the fall session.

Happy 60th B-Day, Maw Maw!

Yesterday was Shane's mom's 60th birthday! Maw Maw and Pops came over and we all went to a late lunch/early dinner at Friend's in Madisonville. It was a nice afternoon. (I forgot to get a picture before they left)!

After dinner, Chase showed Maw Maw and Pops some of his new tricks. Here's a video of the Big Boy pushing his car.

Happy 10 Months!

Chase turns 10 months old today! He's getting to be so big and learns new tricks every day. His personality is really shining these days...he's such a flirt with everyone! And is very curious!
