Today the four of us ran our first race as a family. It was a local 5K at the Abita Springs Trailhead for the Mary Payton Foundation. What an awesome day! The weather was beautiful, the set up was perfect for families with tons of free food, drinks, entertainment and the location has a park and fountains for the children to play in!
The only problem was that we had to borrow a jogging stoller since we only have one jogging stroller but two kids to push. The stroller we borrowed had a slight defect in that it would not turn and naturally went to the left. It took a lot of work to keep it straight and it tired us out quickly, so Shane and I had to keep switching strollers throughout the race (although he got stuck with it for majority of the race).
Chase did fight us at first because he didn't want to get in the stroller, he wanted to actually run the race. So cute! I can't wait until he's old enough to run with us. Luckily for us, the race had a booth with doughnuts and we bribed Chase into the stroller with that :-)
After the race, Chase had fun playing in the fountains while I enjoyed a free iced coffee and Shane had a free smoothie!
Friday night before we went to bed, Shane and I did our usual rounds of checking on the kids. This is how we found Chase sleeping in his bed...with a book over his face and his finger marking his place. We were dying laughing!
Thursday, I took Chase to the Lakefront to play. He loved the swings and watching the water. He said he wanted to go fishing...I think we'll have to get Pan Pan and Uncle Tory to help with that :-)

OK, well that does it. I have always suspected it, but now I know it's true. You REALLY were ADOPTED.
I cannot believe
1. You are so freakin skinny
2. You ran a race when your newborn is 2 months old!
So, I'm sorry--you just SUCK!
yeah, Jamie is right. I was not racing after either kid was 2 months--you are crazy (in a good way!) You make motherhood look graceful :)
btw i can't get on jamie's blog but tell her i said hi!
no kidding! you look awesome! that is not normal after 2 babies. ; )
congrats on the run!
Logan couldn't stand sitting the entire time either. He's not my stroller baby. Libby could still kick back and be happy...he wants out a lot more. ugh.
