Weekend Update

This weekend I took the boys to Biloxi for an overnight visit with Jamie and Taylor. We had such a great time and really appreciate Jamie's hospitality. On Saturday we went over to Ms. Marcia's house to go swimming. That night Chase and Taylor took a bath together and Jamie and I enjoyed some nice wine and a fantastic shrimp dinner (prepared by Jamie herself)!

Chase started off sleeping pretty well that night, but by midnight he was crying and I knew I was in trouble. I only ended up getting about 4 hours of sleep which made taking care of the kiddos on Sunday a little difficult (Shane was out of town in Houston on his annual "boys" trip).

Ethan was an angel all Saturday, but something set him off on Sunday. He was extremely fussy all day Sunday and Monday. It's very unlike him to be so upset and he is still showing some fussiness today. I'm not sure what's going on with my little man, but hopefully he will be back to himself soon!

Happy 4 Months, Ethan!

My precious little angel turns 4 months old today. Time seems to be flying passed me. Every day Ethan seems to get cuter and happier and big brother Chase is completely in love with his little bro. It is so amazing to watch them interact together and to see how much they love each other. Chase is constantly kissing and hugging all over Ethan and Ethan smiles at Chase no matter how much Chase is smothering him. I love to watch Ethan's eyes as he follows Chase around the room all the while bearing a huge grin. These two little guys are already the best of friends.

Ethan's Baptism was this past Sunday. After the ceremony, all the family headed back to our house for some of Tory's FANTASTIC cooking. Thank you so much Tory for preparing all the food for us. You really made the day easy for me to relax!

The Big Rollover!

I witnessed Ethan roll over for the first time today. I don't know if he's done it before without me around, but he's done it several times today. It's so exciting to watch him go!

Yeah, I did it!

I'm so happy!

Mister Sean

Shane's brother, Sean, came in town this weekend and met Ethan for the first time. Chase kept calling him "Mister Sean" instead of Uncle Sean...it was pretty cute.

While in town, Shane, Uncle Sean and Pops took Chase swimming. He is doing so well in the pool, kicking his feet and jumping in with no fear. We're so excited that he is starting to have fun in the water. Ethan also got to meet his godfather, Uncle Gary, for the first time. The baptism is this weekend.

Ethan and I have been busy working on his tummy time and turning to the left. His physical therapist said that we need to be more diligent so I kicked in high gear. We are doing LOTS of tummy time every day and he now takes at least one nap on his belly with his head turned to the left. I can already see a huge improvement. He is starting to tolerate being on his stomach for longer periods of time and when he sleeps on his back he will now turn his head to his left on his own. Hopefully this means that his twisted neck muscles are starting to stretch out and his head will soon round out.

Whenever I take Ethan out of the bath and wrap him in his lamb towel, Chase automatically starts singing "Ethan's a sheep, Ethan's a sheep" in the cutest sing song way. It cracks me up every time.

Beach Vacation

We spent 4th of July on the beach with my parents. Chase, Ethan and I left with my mom on Wednesday of last week and my dad and Shane met us after work on Thursday.

We had a great time. Chase was not too crazy about the actual beach because he was so preoccupied with the pool. His swimming teacher would be so proud and amazed if she saw how he was jumping off the side of the pool and going under water. He was like a little fish.

Our days usually started off with some pool time, an hour at the beach and then some more pool time before we had to bring Ethan back inside the condo and out of the heat. We would then eat lunch, the kids would take a nap and then repeat the same pattern in the afternoon.

Gone are the days of lounging on the beach, sitting in a chair reading a magazine while sipping on some drinks. I had to work hard to keep Chase interested in the "dirty sand" as he called it and no way was he going anywhere near the ocean. But he did have a blast surfing in his baby pool on the beach.

Thank you so much to mom and dad for letting us stay a full week at "Mammy's Beach Tower" (as Chase calls it).
