Weekend

We had a nice weekend. Saturday I went to meet Conner and visit with Carrie...he is SO CUTE and tiny! Carrie looks fantastic!

Sunday morning we took Chase for beignets. He wasn't really impressed which shocked Shane and I since he is such a fan of food! Then we went to my parents' house for Shrimp Fest! Since my sister and her family are moving to Houston next weekend, my mom wanted to give them as much shrimp as possible before they leave. We had boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp & corn bisque and BBQ shrimp. All of it was so YUMMY!

We are going to miss them so much, but I think they are really going to enjoy their new adventure!

Surgery Update

Chase made it through his surgery yesterday. It was supposed to last 1 hour and ended up taking 2 hours. You can only imagine how well I handeled the last 60 minutes of his surgery. Everything worked out great, but his circumcision reconstruction was more extensive than they thought. They ended up having to do a skin graph in addition to the hernia and testicle repair, and needless to say, Chase has quite a bit of recovering to do.

The day of surgery, Chase woke up in the best mood. He thought it was so funny that Mamma and Dadda were waking him up early and taking him in public in his pajamas. After the surgery, he slept most of the day and this morning he woke up in good spirits.

Family Fun!

Shane and I wanted to make sure that Chase had an extra special weekend since he is having his surgery on Monday. So Friday we took him to the zoo, Audubon park and dinner sitting outside on Magazine street. Then today we took him to the Pumpkin Festival in Folsom where he saw cows, horses, pigs, chickens, sheep, a pig roast and lots of pumpkins. It was a lot of fun for all of us! Chase was really into all of the animals this weekend and kept pointing at everything asking, "What's that?"

Fun With Chase

Chase was in a silly mood last night. While in the bathtub he kept putting on his sunglasses and laughing (notice how he's playing with his favorite bath toy).

Then when we read him a book before bed, he kept saying "Moo" and pointing to a picture of a cow...SO SMART! We didn't even know that he could do that. By the time I got the video camera out, he was finished with his show, but you can get the idea.

Toddlearn

Chase and I signed up for Toddlearn classes this fall (comprehensive, fun and educationally based, developmentally appropriate play program for parents and children to learn through play together). We go once a week and Chase seems to really like it.

Today I took some pictures so Shane can see what exactly it is that we do while we're there.

Also, Chase can say the phrase "Night, Night" very well now. Today I asked him if he was ready for his nap and to go night, night and he repeated the phrase about 15 times in a row and then walked to his crib. It was so cute!

USM Homecoming

Last weekend, Shane and I took Chase to Hattiesburg for USM's Homecoming game. I did not get a lot of pictures, as Chase kept me pretty busy. Both Shane and I were so proud of Chase's good behavior, he did so well all day. But even with the good behavior, it was still a lot of work and maybe next year we might go solo :-)
